Why Canbat? Because they outperform in Canadian climates. The Canbat BMS with heating function is extremely effective in harsh Canadian climates LFP batteries cannot be charged at temperatures below zero degrees C.

Customer experience: Alfred is restoring an Islander 32’ sailboat near Victoria, Canada. He installed a Thunderstruck 48V electric drive with 4 x 12V 150AH Canbat batteries. On the first sea trial Alfred pushed the battery system to its limits and the batteries shut off as they should when the current goes over the battery limits (over 150A for this battery) , the boat stopped, re-set, and turned back on. The range was then tested at a cruise setting and the sailboat motored back to the dock at the end of the day near zero % charge. The batteries had been run so low that the internal BMS turned them off and went into low power mode. For two weeks of cold weather (between zero and -10C) the batteries sat and froze. When we were called to check on the system there was 0 voltage from any one of the 4 x 12V 150AH batteries. Past experience has taught that LFP batteries will not likely recover in this situation. When battery voltages are very low an intelligent charger will not turn on and save them. So we put on a 10A basic charger on each 12V battery and slowly they came alive again. Charged back to 100% and health is 100%. This experience made the decision to work with Canbat and easy one. They just work.
